Beginner's Mind Meditation: The Practice of Letting Go

Each day arrives with the opportunity to let the past go and to live fully in the present. In this live, online interactive 6-week series with Mind Oasis Founder Kelly Schwartz, we will explore letting go using our breath and other meditative techniques.

In this live, online interactive 6-week series, we will explore letting go using our breath and other meditative techniques. We'll start by exploring our relationship to breath in meditation and then will dive into shamatha meditation, a calm-abiding practice, with an emphasis on the sensations of breath.

If you like to laugh, toss out an occasional swear word, and are serious about giving yourself a sacred break with community once a week - this series is for you! We share, ask questions, meditate a lot, and have fun every Thursday morning. We would love for you to join us!

In each class we will combine a teaching along with a couple short sits as well as interactive discussion with our classmates about our triumphs and our struggles on our cushion each session. We will be using Pema Chodron's How to Meditate: A Practical Guide to Making Friends with Your Mind as our complementary book.

Kelly Schwartz is the Founder of Mind Oasis and has been lovingly practicing yoga and meditation for seven years. Under the guidance of deeply devoted and masterful teachers, she has learned the ancient art and power of the contemplative traditions. Using humor, ferocity, and passion, Kelly offers sincere and straightforward instructions.

Kelly has spent many hours, days, and weeks in retreat – including a month-long solo meditation retreat. When she isn’t teaching, or practicing yoga and meditation, you can find her on an adventure rock climbing and hiking with her husband and dog.
